Non‑Surgical Care
Casting or bracing to immobilize the bone, realignment (closed reduction) performed gently without an incision, and follow‑up imaging to ensure proper healing. This approach is often used for stable fractures that can heal naturally with support.
Surgical Repair (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation)
For more complex or unstable fractures, surgery may be recommended. Dr. Appleton may use plates and screws, rods or nails, or pins or wires. These devices hold the bone in the correct position while it heals, allowing for better alignment and faster recovery.
