Dr. J. Stephen Appleton, MD

Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement

Dr. Stephen Appleton is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Texas Joint Institute in Dallas and Frisco who specializes in the treatment of injuries and disorders of the hip and knee. He performs primary and revision hip and knee joint replacement surgery, as well as partial joint replacement, and is actively involved in research in the field.

Dr. Appleton received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, and received further training at Duke University where he completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery of the Hip and Knee.

Dr. Appleton moved to Dallas at an early age and is a graduate of St. Mark’s School of Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia while instructing and competing in skydiving. In addition to his association with the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Piedmont Orthopaedic Society, Dr. Appleton is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.
